Keep Praying

6/25/12

Halo Familia!

My English friend Russell came to church yesterday! With his fiancé. A surprise family came that I did not expect, and the mom of Eric who recently passed away and it was sweet. Except for the fact that the power went out. Not awesome. So hot! And right before the sacrament the first counselor came down and asked Elder Ramirez and I to give talk. And Eldor Ramirez spoke for only like three minutes. 20 for Elder Taylor, woo hoo!

I keep praying for the same things cause I read about prayer in Jesus the Christ and you got to be persistent and effortful in your prayers maybe that's why a lot of investigators don't progress. They don't give an effortful in your prayers. So I'm going to explain that to them.

We found some good families this week and used a variety of members for each one. Went pretty well. My area is super sweet though my house is small. We actually have the less silly part of the area. There are two companionships in La Rama Bastidas. My area is like point of the mountain but more pointy hills with lots of little houses and things covering it. Like little canyons. Dirt rocky road and they never end. You can just keep going up the hills looking for someone and go up and up and up. I like it a lot. Well, I started using the brown shoes, I had only worn them like twice and so they are very new so no worries. Russell, got the same infection I got a year ago. Gringos.

José didn't come to church, but he is still excited. The Assistant came and did splits with the other companionship and rebelled against them in the house. Making up a dumb rule. I was like man, you're here to help not to be a pest. Then we got eaten by a secretary for having an ugly house. But we tried to fix it today. I got letters for the first time in like two months!

Love you all tons,
Elder Taylor

Faith Like A Rock

6/18/12

Halo Familia!

A young husband in the ward this week passed away. His wife got chickenpox, well let me explain, he was in the hospital and sick with pulmonic cancer and got better. Came home, Friday one and half weeks ago. We paid him a visit and gave him a blessing. He entered the clinic again that night. Was there a couple of days and got sicker. His wife got chickenpox and couldn't go see him. He got super bad and passed away on Thursday and on Sunday, wait no on Thursday okay, Wednesday. We did a fast for him and her and she asked me to offer a prayer on her house and gave her and one of her kids a blessing, with another member. Then on Thursday morning he passed away and she had chickenpox and her kid was sick.

But enough about death. Let's talk about life! Kristina! There is a baby in your belly! Are you stoked out of your mind? I am!

But Then we went to her house and saying how great thou art with her and she was faith like a rock. "Comprendoout perfectemente el plan de salvacion." Cool solemn experience.

Also Joses at blood sugar rose two 512. Problem. He was in the clinic a couple days. That said he wanted to join the church. We told him he could.

We found a bunch of people this last week. Including a couple beautiful families but no one could come to church really. Including a man named Russell from England who I'm teaching, but I'm not sure he understands. We teach him and his fiancée in Spanish.

I pray for five things recently always. That people feell the part of Gods love they need to feel through me. That we find complete families. That we find sacerdosio. (Both of which are ready to build the kingdom of God.) That i will have the gift of tongues and that we"ll work effectively with the members. Have them in every lesson possible. I'm thusly we continue to chase down familias.

Love you all tons,

Elder Taylor

Health Tip

6/11/12

Halo Familia!

Health Tip – if you have dry skin before you waste your money on lotions make sure you are drinking enough water! That's how your cells receive hydration most ineffectively. I think there are a lot of problems like that. We focus on fruits of the problem, hacking at those when really we just got to drink more water. Or just do better planning of lessons and comprometer a los miembros and verify – all of which we are working on.

José and his son came again! They are totally powerful. During a lesson José said in Spanish "this is like driving in a nail-you got to hit it a couple of times." Then he came with his son and during elders quorum he looked at me and pretended that he was hammering. Like you're getting to me. Nailed it!

A lot of lessons failed us this week. We scale and hill – "ay, no hallegado" o "Esta dormido". Like alright I'm going to start throw in perros, but then we usually find someone. That's the thing here nobody says no. Like one in five, then nobody really comes to church. Working on it. José does! Also working on the first visit. How to make it a memorable experience because I know they won't remember the words I say, but the way they feel. Got to use the routine right and make them face reality and tear their heart out and improve it and replace it (– broken) But that's our job.

We went looking for a family. Lopez Vega, way up on the hill. Like super up there and it was night and spectacular. I was definitely made for this area. Didn't find the family. Being a trainer is sweet. My comp and I will pass a family on the street normally a man and his kid and will pass them completely. Usually then we looked at each other and I'll say to him "why didn't you contact him?" And he'll basically go running after them. Totally awesome and usually we get an appointment.

Love you all times,

Eldor Taylor
